the date night rooftop
Darling Rooftop is the newest addition to our summer rooftop bar line up. Located 47 stories up in the air in the Park Lane Hotel, the rooftop bar and lounge which feels more like an intimate garden oasis has incredible panoramic views of Central Park paired with delicious unique, signature cocktails. We recommend the Darling Unlimited and the Japanese Boulevardier, and they also serve upscale bar food, like the Seafood Tower, Oysters and Grilled Cheese. The beautiful wraparound greenery-filled patio along with the gorgeous art-deco inspired design really seals the deal. There’s something for everyone to indulge in here and with summer upcoming, this is the perfect spot for date night drinks before or after dinner – and we definitely recommend checking out their DJ lineup for the month.

the "it" speakeasy
Located on the ground floor of the Arlo SoHo hotel, Foxtail is a cocktail lounge with speakeasy vibes that pays homage to midcentury glamour and embodies the essence of mischief through their food and drinks. This spot is serving up the perfect summer night vibes, especially through some of the craft cocktails which feature fresh fruit and even marshmallows as a garnish for a little campfire moment. The light fare and small plates are seasonally-focused and we especially recommend anything from the raw bar selection, which feels like a perfectly decadent choice to match the 50s and 60s elegance of the interior. Hideaway and enjoy a perfect night of whimsical drinks and live music which is featured more often than not. Pop by 6pm-late with friends or a date for a cheeky night indulging in the speakeasy hidden in plain sight.

all day drinks but make it chic
Located within the ModernHaus SoHo, a quiet but stylish retreat from the bustling city is SoHo’s newest all-day spot. When you enter the ModernHaus Hotel, just take the glass elevator up to the second floor and step into the modern, elevated space. From the same team that revived JIMMY, this coffee-shop-cocktail-bar hybrid should be your next spot for coffee, drinks, or anything in between. The lounge is chic and modern yet comfortable with modular seating, wood wall panels, curated artwork and oversized, floor-to-ceiling windows letting you enjoy sweeping views of downtown. Our personal favorite is to come her for a loungey, relaxed early evening drink while watching the sunset – trust us it’s totally worth it since we did this as part of a work meeting! 😉 You’ll feel both at home here but also swept up in the energy of an NYC lounge, and with a wonderful signature cocktail menu complete with light bites from Veranda (ModernHaus’ restaurant), there’s nothing more you could want. If you’re looking for something refreshing, get the Josh Collins (we love it!) or you can’t go wrong with an Espresso Martini here since coffee is their other specialty!

the fun din
We love an iconic NYC restaurant and this first-generation Portugese and Brazilian family owned restaurant that closed in 2021 after 40+ years has reopened in a new home in Midtown last month. Originally located in Little Brazil, Ipanema was a go-to for Portugese and Brazilian fare. The brother duo who have headed the opening in honor of their father’s original restaurant have created an amazing space that pays homage not only to the original location but also to the Ipanema neighborhood in Brazil, which is known for each beach and leafy streets filled with restaurants, shopping and socialization. With a gorgeous attention to detail and the presence of greenery inside, this is going to be the perfect spot for an upscale, delicious meal this summer.
The menu is heavily influenced by both cultures and when you eat here, you’re welcomed like you’re family. In both Portugese and Brazilian culture, a meal is more than just the food, and the time spent with family and friends at the table making memories and conversation is all part of the experience, complete at Ipanema with a welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. While the menu is on the smaller side, everything is delicious and we definitely recommend the Cavalinha and Bitoque, along with the Daikrina, Upperhand, and Queen of the Sea cocktails. Not only are the food and drinks incredible, but the presentation is amazing so your phone and your IG story will definitely be eating first. If you’re looking for something yummy and fun this summer, definitely make a res at Ipanema – you won’t regret it!

the instagrammable din
We all know the Lower East Side has some of the best spots to go out at night, and Double Chicken should be next on your list. This spot opened during the pandemic in November 2020 and has been gaining popularity and the recognition it deserves since then from the unique experience it provides. The food and cocktails channel an experimental nature and are deconstructed, redefined, and rebuilt, taking traditional drinks and dishes to a whole new level. They started with a cocktail pop-up mobile bar in a vintage 1977 VW minibus served across the country before finally opening up their LES space which offers two different experience: The Front Room and The Back Room. In the Front Room you can find innovative cocktails on tap, called “taptails” and their famous chicken sandwiches (we recommend the Hot Honey!) in a more casual environment with modern, industrial decor. If you want a more elevated experience, The Back Room is perfect for you with beautiful mid-century modern decor featuring a seasonally-inspired fine-dining menu and a rotating list of signature and classic cocktails. For the cocktails, there’s so many good options but we recommend the Japanese Cold Noodle, the French Toast, and the Cold Pizza (…we know, but just give it a shot). As for the food, the Shiitake Mushroom Poppers and Blue Prawn Ceviche are favorites.
Both spaces serve cocktails that embrace the space with whimsical and unique flavors that will have you ordering several different drinks just to try them all! We love the quirky and cozy yet elevated vibe of Double Chicken Please and definitely recommend it for an outing with friends, before or after dinner or even to pre-game a fun night ahead.
